I guess the big websites will be like AutoTrader & eBay.
Gumtree is free so i suppose that'll be worth a shout.
Anything beyond that?
Not really a fan of FaceBook marketplace from what i've seen so far but maybe i shouldn't totally rule it out.

Car dealers. They've that many, they're selling them.0

What sort of budget?
The £1k cars are in a different place to the £20k cars.0 -
Well from one sharpsh!t answer to another ... auto trader, eBay, gumtree & Facebook marketplace all have one thing in common so i'd expect you to know that's the kind of thing I'm asking about :T
AdrianC: £3k. That's a budget not a target. For example we've recently found a few cars suitable at £1.5k thereabouts. It just turned out that the sellers didn't want to remove their ads after selling their cars.0 -

Autotrader's where I'd be starting, assuming it's something fairly generic you're looking at.0 -
Sorry it seems I wasn't as clear as I thought...
I wasn't looking for a which of these websites I list do you think would be most suitable, because I'm just trying them all.
I was asking for is there other websites like those that I obviously don't know about.
Yes garages may have their own website, which is wonderful...if you are aware of the garage existing. So I was looking for websites similar to those I listed. Are there more or have I pretty much covered them all?0 -
I'm looking for a caravan just now.
I started visiting local dealers that I knew were there, along with searching the sites you've listed.
No joy, I started joining Facebook pages that were specific to selling caravans, not just Marketplace. Join groups in your area for cars if you're not willing to travel too far.
I then googled "caravan sales (my area)". This brought up a caravan finder site. RACcars has 250 cars under £3000 within 50 miles of my postcode, I'm sure there will be similar sites and similar results near you.
The google search also brought up a map. Clicking on the map, brought up caravan places I didn't know of. Again, it'll do the same for car sales.
As I'm actively looking to buy, I emailed around 7 of them with my requirements. Not everything makes it on to websites, our first caravan had just been traded in when we bought it.0 -
You are as well sticking with Autotrader as from memory if it's under 1k it's free to list on Autotrader. Therefore somebody selling a car at your budget would be stupid not to put it on there.0

I’m keeping an eye out for a decent older car at the moment and watching eBay, autotrader and gumtree. Haven’t found anywhere else.
All the local garages are using Autotrader, so no benefit to me of looking at the individual trader websites. There are very few private sales locally on autotrader, though. Gumtree, is better for the local private sales, but I find it a real pain to work through, as it seems to disregard search criteria, introducing other makes or more distant cars randomly in the list (I suspect this may be individual traders using wide descriptors to get listed further afield). eBay, seems to be the most popular locally for the private sales, but again, it is difficult to narrow the search if, like me, you are waiting for something specific.0
