Glad to hear your phone interview went ok. I'm sure the license plate won't be an issue and you'll soon have your DRO.

I should have the receipt for it in my 'filing' system, so shall take a look. I did look at similar numbers while I applied for a quote, and they're less than I paid for mine, so everything is crossed. Not worried about it going, just about the possibility of it stopping my DRO, but that's unlikely to happen. It will soon all be over.

Edited to add: I have located the receipt for the private plates, and they were £420. From similar ones I've looked at, it should be worth less now.

Well, except for the year's wait. :) I'm jealous. I wish I was a bit closer to getting mine. I'm not the most patient person so I've been distracting myself with chores. Luckily there's always something else that needs doing.

Yes, still a year to go through, but I don't see how things will change in the year. I don't do the lottery, I'm not owed any money, and no one's going to pop off and leave me anything, so I'm not worrying about the coming 12 months. I'm looking it as a training period, where I note down everything I spend and really get a grip on things to make sure I never get in debt again.

Looking back, it doesn't seem more than a few weeks since I put the application in 12 weeks ago. Time flies so quickly. I hope it does the same for you.

The draft application arrived a short while ago, so I went through it, made slight adjustments to the amounts (interest and fees have been added to some of the accounts since I put the application in), checked everything thoroughly, and put the amount I paid for my private plates (£420) ten years ago, and added that I have the original receipt for the purchase. I also have a quote online for £600, but it seems pretty ball park, as it does ask if I would like to adjust the price, presumably putting it down for a quick sale, if selling is the intention. I think I should be okay with that. Nothing else concerns me about the application. Funny, as I'd never even considered my number plate being an asset ... it's just a thing shoved on my car. Really really hoping that it doesn't put a big spanner in the works with the DRO. Anyway ... draft application is now in the post winging its way back to Birmingham, all signed and dated. It should arrive by Monday. I know they're aiming to have my DRO by the end of next week. Fingers are firmly crossed.

Just had a phone call from Business Debtline. They've received my amended application and are ready to put it through for me today. I told him that I have the receipt for the private plates, and a quote for an estimated current price, and he's happy with that. They're ready in case the OR asks for them. He said he's happy to send it through for me today, and he hopes to hear on Wednesday, when he'll send me a text to let me know it's gone through. I'll be checking online anyway. Can't believe it's almost over.

Yes! Just had a text from my Intermediary to inform me that my DRO has been accepted!! It's been a long haul with the huge backlog of applications, but things moved really quickly at the end, and I can't thank Business Debtline enough ... and the OR, of course! This give me a far greater chance of making a future for myself and enable me to be more self sufficient. It's MASSIVE! Not at all worried about the coming year. No one's going to be leaving me any money, I won't win anything ... and if I did, then I'd be happy to pay what I owe.

Thank you all for your advice and support.
    Best wishes to you all!

Thank you! Did you ever hear back from CAB about their waiting time? Really hope that you've got yours soon as well.

I never got a reply from my email to the CAB. I might have to make a trip to see them in person. I would rather not wait another 10 weeks if i can avoid it. I'll have to stop procrastinating and just go.
