Very old Barclays claim

Hi all.
Was hoping for a little help and direction. Firstly as it was very old and I had no paperwork I used a claim company. Initially it went well and accounts were found for a personal loan from 1995. Then update mentioned that Barclays had found ppi.:T then it went cold. A few months later Barclays said no proof of ppi found and case closed. Claim handlers challenged but to no avail. I am now armed with 2 sets of account details?? Although I only had one loan, I did default and ended up paying in full but with a ccj. This I disclosed to them.
I questioned Barclays regarding 2 acct numbers and both were loans but for 1 year each. I only had one??? They could offer further info. So am stuck at the moment.
My only info is that my loan was £5500 over 3 years and my monthly repayments were just under £220 which seems to suggest more than the loan. I was told that ppi might have been bundled into the loan back then and not separated and interest and ppi was added in full upfront?
Any ideas that could help me to further this gratefully received
Thanks in advance
Neil

You'd need far more compelling "evidence" than just the repayment amount, I'm afraid. My only info is that my loan was £5500 over 3 years and my monthly repayments were just under £220 which seems to suggest more than the loan.
If you have no documentation positively showing you paid PPI (and the Bank can find no trace either) then your "complaint" has reached an impasse and you have no way to progress it further.
Loan PPI can indeed be simply added to the repayments as a single monthly premium. However, it will still have formed part of the loan Agreement and would be itemised there. Without this Agreement, though, there is no way to tell if you paid PPI two decades back.
The one consolation is that at least you won't have to pay the Claims Company anything...0 -
Yep true.... would a subject access request offer up any info. Would love to get my hands on a copy of my loan agreement.0
