Hi
Looking to buy a tablet/small note pad with keyboard and normal size USB port.Ideally 10-12 inch screen.
For my daughter for her Uni work and who is always on the move.
Any recommendations?

Microsoft Surface, dunno about the screen size though.
A small laptop might be better.
  • Tablets do not have much storage, students forget to back up to the cloud and lose USB keys.

Look again, go for a small laptop, they are lightweight now and easy to carry, and they have far more storage.

And don't bother with Microsoft office, download open office onto it, just as capable and free.

Something like a Lenovo Miix. It has a detachable keyboard and 2 full size USB ports. I have the original Miix 310 and it has been great:

It may be worth checking whether the university she will attend has a recommended computer set-up? I don't see this so much in UK universities but some US universities will give guidance. Not so much "buy this laptop" but general things they may need to be able to interact with the various university interfaces. I think some US universities actually do have a set laptop/computer they require incoming freshmen (and women!) to buy.

As far as I am aware, most universities will provide Office for free.

Chuwi Hi10, Boots into Windows and Android.

Bought one recently and very impressed, very good battery life. I use it for Windows 10 mostly.

Micro SD card slot, full sized USB and Micro USB and mini HDMI out, you can use a USB keyboard or bluetooth/wireless or a dedicated keyboard that clips to the base and connects to the pins on the bottom automatically.

Full windows 10 legal and not the latest version of Android but it works (version 5.1 Lollipop)

Quad core CPU and 4GB RAM, 64GB hard drive. Its silent also.

Can you tell how much I like it?
