Pretty much what happened to us, my company got bought out by a bigger company, we rebranded to their company name a year later, then another 2 years later they decided to make our whole office redundant.
They already had operations setup further North, so I guess didn't see the reason in keeping us. Although we had much more robust systems and processes, better customer feedback and company image before. They just wanted our 90,000 customer base and systems ultimately, which they took and rebranded.
So in effect me amongst 10 others trained them up on our processes, products, systems and customer base so they could inherit it smoothly... To be honest we got a healthy bonus, enhanced redundancy amongst other bits so I didn't complain!0
