Hi all
I have a quick question, was just watching the news about Universal Credit and was thinking about what will happen when the time comes for ESA SG claimants to switch over. I then proceeded to do some research regarding the rates and how (if at all) they are different to the current rates (of SG)
I now wish i hadn't as i have seen 3 different figures ranging from around 100 pound less a month, to 4 pound extra a week to around 70 pound more a month.
So just to clarify, i am under 25, i receive ESA SG and PIP enhanced and currently i receive £250 a fortnight for ESA and £332 once a month in PIP. Can someone please, to put my mind at rest, explain to me how this might be different when UC rolls out, are they going to be paying the same rates for the SG? I hope someone can help me with this as its started to worry me, i know the rollout wont happen for a while yet but just want to know whats what.

As you're already on ESA you won't be moved to UC for a while (years, although there's no knowing how many) unless you have a change of circumstances which trigger a change.
When they move you over you'll have transitional protection. You won't lose any money or end up on the new rates. But the amount you're on will be frozen until the new rates catch up.
Are you planning to do anything that might trigger a change? If so and you're not in a full service area then I'd do it sooner rather than later.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

PIP Enhanced for Daily living is £83.10 per week
PIP Enhanced Mobility is £58.00 per week
Guessing that a payment of £332.00 per 4 weeks is Daily living0
