Security lights

hi I have a very long garden and with the darker nights drawing in I would like to put about 8-10 security lights running the length of the garden but I would like them once triggered to come on in sequence i.e. first light near house on then second third etc. with a slight delay between each one coming on, can anyone point me in the right direction as to what kit I need to archive this.
thanks in advance
Mark

You won't find anything that does what you want, it would need to be a custom build or DIY, because it would require delay modules for each light OR multiple separate supplies coming from one control box.
It would also be 10x easier with low voltage lighting, as opposed to mains power.

In the commercial world there are two options - DMX and DALI -

Domestically - a timeswitch on every light ?

    Ok I will ask...why?
  • There is absolutely no point in them coming on in sequence?
If you want each to come on as you walk down the garden then sensor on each light/lights and lots of faffing about ensuring the sensors only cover certain areas? What are you trying to achieve something from a pop video ?If so cheapest easiest option would be relays time delay but most electricians are going to think you’re a nutter or going to be hard work with that request and charge accordingly …

Actually, if you have a bunch of 500w lights all coming on a at the same time, the load current would spike massively at switch on, possibly requiring heavier duty cabling and an uprated MCB.
In a domestic installation it's not normal to need this many lights.

Only a non electrician or cowboy would think of running 8 - 10 500w lights in a domestic garden why would you be using them do you want heat up your garden? , Google LED save yourself and those you offer lighting advise too a fortune:rotfl:
  • We have used these in various sizes in 2 houses now and find them great. They throw out a great amount of light and after a couple of days of being in the sun they were charged and have never let us down.

We are not south facing either.

    Can highly recommend.
