PPI Help please

Could you guys please help me out with a PPI claim please?

I had a card with Capital One in 2007 and didnt know wether i had ppi or not so thought i would use the resolver tool to contact them regarding this.

I have had a letter in the post today saying that i did have PPI with them and that PPI was purchased during an inbound telephone call when i activated the card....they also say that they have been UNABLE to locate such call but "during the application process which was less than 6 months prior to the request to purchase PPI i met the eligibility criteria"

Now i have no evidence that i was paid sick pay ( although i was by my employer at the time as it was always signed to be paid by the manager) and i know for well that i wouldnt have taken out PPI knowing this. Where does this leave me with regards to contacting the Ombudsman???

Kinds regards and thank you in advance.
