Thansk again. Still havent bought b getting ready for next week, in particular Black Friday. Had a second thought as I originally found a really good 58' Panasonic but when measured the wall it would stick outside of it. Even 55' seems huge so decided I would go for 49' or 50' instead. At the moment found one good Samsung, ue49ku6400. Shame that Sony that seems even better (kd49xe8004) has too many negative reviews about freezing when using apps etc.
One more thought, is it wprth buying with dvd built in? I know this is out of fashion but havesome dvds that i still havent even watched. But perhaps can always borrow a player from someone just to watch them rather than buying.
  • Don’t buy a TV with a built in DVD player. Don’t buy Philips or any “supermarket specials”. Watch out for a big price jump as you increase screen size, size is all about viewing distance.

Most slim TVs have awful sound, thin and “tinny”. You will end up buying a sound bar or connecting to an AV unit or your HiFi. TVs these days only usually have optical or Bluetooth output, no analogue, no earphone socket - you might need to budget on additional hardware on top of the cost of a TV in order to get half decent sound from it.

I bought the Sony from Richer Sounds, dont have any problems with it,problem is that people dont understand the Technology. Lots of streaming being done these days.
Ensure u connect the broadband router direct to the tv,for best quality.
