Surely it would be the phone service provider, such as Vodaphone, if they impose those charges? The Government don't set those costs.

You admit that 55p is paid by some, too much even if it is just a minority paying.
Yeah, like a tiny minority might pay £8000 for an hour's roaming (current thread on this in the mobiles board). Doesn't mean that's the norm.
Therefore it is not "propaganda" or people are not "gullible" as it is indeed TRUE that some are paying 55p.
It's also TRUE that far, far more people pay nothing at all.
You cannot be "gullible" if the fact is true not concocted.
The implication was that's it's the norm. Like the gullible are conned by adverts saying prices "from" xxx, when most prices are far higher than xxx.
Furthermore as I mentioned, not ALL articles mention "premium rate", just the one that you provide a link for.
Err, yes, and? You said you hadn't read one. So I pointed you at one. It's what they call "fake news".
You have clearly set yourself up as a spokesperson for government phonelines; you should ask for a salary from them!
No, I just call out propaganda and lies when I see them. You carry on swallowing it if you want.

Yes but it suits some peoples' political agenda to blame the govt.

People need to dig below the 'headline' to get the correct information before making ridiculous assertions ;)

Dig below the BBC headline and you'll get incorrect information. As above.

Yeah I'm a govt shill :p I was actually accused of that a few years ago by the WASPI loonies on the pensions board :rotfl:
  • Without going all round the houses again, firstly I clearly said I had read some of the articles, just not the one you linked to. You seem to have a habit of accusing anyone who doesn't agree with you as "gullible" or a "loonie" or having a political agenda. I actually voted Tory last time so bang goes one of your little theories. :D I won't be replying to anymore of your confrontational little posts. I suggest you go and untwist your knickers.

I expect you'd be one of the loudest "loonies" if the pension you'd worked for all your life was withdrawn for several years.

Your posts scream "I'm alright Jack". Nothing to be proud of.

It should be a freephone number. And there should be phones in job centres for claimants to use.

That's the bottom line. No one should end up out of pocket for having to call the dwp.

Your post screams "I know nothing". Here's the thread, plenty of women in the affected age range arguing against WASPI:

WASPI seems to have evolved into some kind of bizarre Cult. They refuse to offer support to other groups, yet have achieved nothing by themselves, and are never likely to.
