Packaged Bank Account HSBC

I took out a normal current account with HSBC circa 2006. Circa 2008 I remember i was sold their packaged bank account (HSBC Advance). I remember receiving a lot of calls from HSBC as at the time I was a student and was in need of loans here and there. However, I never took out the loans with HSBC (after taking the PBA) and always ended up using other loan providers as their rates were better even against HSBC PBA. I didn't use any benefit (like overdraft, travel insurance and other multitudes of benefits that I was sold the PBA for etc.) from the HSBC PBA.
So few questions, do the above makes a case for mis-sold PBA? IF yes, is it something that I could take up with bank myself instead of going to these companies who do it for you, they clearly must take their cut from the compensation/refund. What information/evidence do I need to pursue this myself?
