Quick visit today as off to the yard soon, the vets are coming to give Lulu the 2nd part of her jabs and, after two days of not doing it, her field will need clearing.
Didn't go to Pilates in the end, was in the kitchen, turned funny and felt something ping in my sidetook painkillers and made hot water bottle but no way could have stretched etc for an hour. Must have made right decision as much better today.
I hope Miss Lulu's jabs go well, and she's a good girl for the vet.SpekySquarehead wrote: »Nelski - It's world menopause day? Good timing as the hot flushes might keep the ladies warmer in the winter. All terrible jokes aside, I'll admit to knowing very little about it. Hope you have a good day.
Fortunately for me, I'd already been retired on medical grounds when the dratted thing hit. It's been several years since I'd thought I should be through with it, but I still get [STRIKE]hot flushes[/STRIKE] power surges even now.
Needed to make a loaf today, so we're having pizza for dins - make best use of the BM while it's down from it's "home" on top of the fridge/freezer.:o Blackberry'n'apple crumble for dessert. :drool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I didnt have [STRIKE]hot flushes[/STRIKE] thankfully, its only now i am feeling it.
Still, ive been out to buy myself a couple of cheap [STRIKE]dresses[/STRIKE] tunics to tide me over. If i cant wear bright colours on my face, i'll wear them on my body instead.... Fuscha pink and canary yellow. You will be able to tell its me a mile off! :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Evening all.
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
Cariad, is a Welsh endearment and cwtch is hug, if I've spelt it correctly.
Last day tomorrow and I cannot effing wait, I have one last urgent job to do and it's going Tits up because someone else hasn't done their job properly.
I'm not going to lose any sleep over it ( I hope).
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Hester, that's really exciting, one more day!
Drizzle, drizzle drizzle. Nasty damp leaves.
I had a sudden 'surgical menopause' 21 years ago, the hormonal changes were strong but not too overwhelming. I still have the occasional power surge but I can't think that is the cause, I have always been a bit over sensitive to temperature changes.
Trying day, having glass of wine and yes it is a school night. My eyes are sore, that's my excuse. Or the moon is in Capricorn or summat.
OH went shopping, bought carrotsand so did I on the way home but did he get bread? Did he, fish finger.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
TA that's positively lanky to me :rotfl:. I never, ever reached the dizzy heights of 5ft
. Now it seems I'm only just 4ft 10.. Even my DGS is nearly as tall as me and he's only 8 ! Everything seems to have gone south too and I'm forever trying to shift the weight off the hips.
The Welsh word "cwtch" is used frequently by most people around here, even by non Welsh speakers like me. Oh I just remembered, I also know "popty ping". Anyone guess what that means.... answers on a postcard please. And no I haven't made it up !
Hester I hope you have a good day tomorrow and don't forget to hold your head up high and two fingers even higher when you leave:rotfl:. I wish you a long and happy retirement. Are we having a party ? Please, pretty please _party__party_. I'm sure we would all chip in with the sandwiches and a bottle
.
AOD Once Mr Fix It was sent shopping for something nice for tea as I was poorly and came back with a pair of bright blue fishing socks ! He doesn't even go fishing . Now perhaps you can understand why I'm a bit bonkers 'cos if you can't beat them etc..
Ok I'm going, as I've gone into silly mode. Goodnight all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Ouchy! I sympathise - something went "ping" in my back the night before last. That was a good thing though, I've been waiting for it to do that and release the trapped nerve. I did use some colourful language when it went, though.
I hope Miss Lulu's jabs go well, and she's a good girl for the vet.
She was a really good girl thanks LW and hardly flinched this time when the needle went it! So now she has seen everyone necessary for good equine health but I am going to ask my friend who is a qualified animal (and human) masseuse to come and give her a massage, dear old Bill used to love it and hopefully she will too.
One annoying bit of news, the blooming washing machine has stopped working  it gave an error code that meant the door wasn't closed properly and after youtoobing it we think there is a problem in the mechanism. DOH has ordered a £20 part which we hope will do the job if not we will need a new one as not worth the expense of mending. It's 11 years old so doesn't owe me anything it's just so damm annoying0 -
I used soya isoflavones to get through the menopause. Bloody brilliant. Took a month to work but prior to that my ‘power surges’ were horrendous. Live alone, no support from anyone or work. Didn’t even tell anyone. Except I told others about the soya, worked for them too!0

Nowt wrong with going into silly mode. I do it myself occasionally.... not so much on here though. Yesterday i went to B and Q for some sugar soap and came out with 2 houseplants and a storage basket. I forgot the sugar soap and i'm terrified to go back in again in case i walk out with something else.
Its 8.30 and youngest is still not back from work. Tea has gone belly up and one of the pampered hounds has put herself to bed.
Oh and i'm cold.
