Not sure if this is the correct forum, apologies if it's not.
Last week I signed up for the FREE Credit report from Experian.
On it there is a 'linked address' in Manchester that I have never been associated with!
Do I need to do anything? If so what?
I mailed Experian but have had no response!

Yes you do need to do something.. you are correct to contact experian and ask them to remove it.
also I would suggest you obtain your reports form the other two agencies.0 -

Thanks...but what do you mean by "suggest you obtain your reports form the other two agencies."This post was created in an area that may contain nuts!0 -
there are three credit reference agencies... if one has wrong information then the other two might also and this might affect you ability to get credit/mortgage etc.0

Coincidentally there was a bit about this on BBC 1 tonight, The One Show.
They gave the names of the other 2 as Call Credit and Equifax.
Experian mailed me back today and they have put a 'Notice of Correction' on my report...which states:
"THE ACCURACY OF THIS DATA HAS BEEN DISPUTED BY THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED AND WE HAVE NOW CONTACTED THE SUBSCRIBER. CARE SHOULD THEREFORE BE TAKEN WHEN USING THIS ITEM OF DATA TO ASSESS THE CREDITWORTHINESS OF THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED."
Do I still need to contact the other 2?
I have cards listed on my report that I have not used for years and some that I recently got just for the 'benefits'......
ie £35 for Egg Card through Quidco...
£15 Amazon vouchers for Amazon card.....
I have also signed up for credit on things like Freemans and Great Universal when I see the codes posted for deals which let you get items for next to nothing which appear "too good to miss".
I probably never intend using the cards so should I cancel them?
My Credit score is FAIR...I've never been refused credit but will it improve if I cancel them?
My bank manager told me a while back that my credit score could not have been better.....so has it dropped because of all these cards I have applied for?
Sorry for so many questions....but it might help others like me who sign up to all these cards and don't realise the consequences.
Thanks. This post was created in an area that may contain nuts!0
