Can anyone help... I have an howdens quote, woman said they now have a sale on.

So got a second quote and prices are the same!!

Where is the SALE ??

its only 5 units and worktop but £1500 in Glendevon ivory seems expensive.

any fast help appreciated please

I havwe just read an artical online in guardian about Howdens prices and builders..

One thing I have noticed is that Wren kitchens who appears to constantly have a sale too !!! gave me a price for units not fitted by them. And a price of howdens not fitted by them..

Howdens things vary form 75 to 80% discount but are roughly the same price as Wren kitchens who deal with the public and don't sell to trade...

So why are the prices the same Wren to public and Howdens to trade.???

The discounts quoted by kitchen companies are just sales pitch in my opinion.
I recently had a kitchen supplied and the quote was listing initial price, discount % (generally about 30%) and final price for every item. Yet when I did a bit of price comparison their 'final' price was no different from that being charged by other retailers for things like the cooker, hob and hood.

As for Howden's, although they came out to measure up and sent me a design, they refused to let me know the kitchen price and said it had to be done through someone who had an account with them (the original fitting company lost interest when I turned them down on a separate job for being too expensive). Needless to say Howdens didn't get the business.
