Disney / The Somme

Hi - I am hoping someone can give me some suggestions.
We are driving to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks. We have been a few times, and I am sure that we have seen some signs for World War 1 / the Somme. My daughter, who is 10, is currently studying World War 1 at school, and I thought it might be useful to stop off somewhere for an hour or two on the way there. Does anyone have any recommendations of anywhere we can go? It can't be too far off route, or be somewhere that will take too long, as my 30+ year old sister who has never been to Disney will be with us, and I think she will be desperate to get there. So maybe something like a visitors centre, cemetery or something like that?

Thank you

  • Google Maps are your friend. Assuming you are driving down from Calais then yes it is feasible.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Were you going to Disney when you saw the signs in the past ?

We dont know the route your using to get to Disney or even which port, as suggested use google maps to find any museums or visitor centres along your route. There's 2 to the west of Ameins, be too far you I bet.
