What to do with trinket boxes

Over the years I have been given a number of trinket boxes by my sons, and when my Mum died, I kept a couple of hers. For sentimental reasons I do not want to part with any of the boxes, but truthfully I don't know what to do with them all! I'm a fairly minimalistic person, so jewellery, desk supplies etc are all put away in drawers. Yet it seems silly to have these boxes on display, empty. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated please.

If you want the 'memory' of them rather than the actual boxes, why not do what one of those TV declutterers suggested some years ago, take a nice group photo of them and display that then give the actual boxes to charity. I'm seriously thinking of doing that with some plates and ornaments which have sentimental value to me but I don't really have anywhere to put them.
