I've smashed mine in Turkey at the ATM this year and will do in USA next month.
It's a small village in Turkey and I can use the card in the supermarkets but the bars are all cash only presently so Monzo has been a real bonus.
Next summer I'll do the £200 limit on Monzo and then £200 on Revolut at the ATM's which should do me for cash and if I have to get some @ 3% so be it, its still cheaper than getting cash in the UK due to the Mastercard interbank rate.
I'll have a chat and see if any of the new bars are going to start taking cards. Its been good while it lasted and I'll just have to change my behaviour and spending habits. Looking forward to getting the Monzo current account- and I work for a high street bank!0 -
In the overseas ATM stakes and just about everything else, Starling Bank is looking more and more superior!
Is it just a coincidence that this end to the Monzo free ATM withdrawals follows hot on the heels of the lifting of banking restrictions and the start of the trial of its new current account? But on balance, fees over £200 withdrawals is not a lot different from Revolut and no doubt good in the monetising stakes.
To me personally, Monzo is and will forever be a third-rate prepaid card!0
