Just got a new 2017 27” iMac and was looking to get a NAS.
Anyone have any thoughts/recommendations? Need at least 12TB.
Also are there any issues with running it with APFS.
Thanks

I'd check the disk format that your selected NAS uses because their OS is often a form of Linux. Synology, for example, uses the EXT4 Linux format, so as far as the NAS drives are concerned APFS is irrelevant as you don't have any choice in the matter of formatting. Is your new iMac exclusively APFS which implies an SSD only? APFS for hybrid/external/Time Machine drives seems to be a work in progress at the moment and perhaps best avoided for now. A main problem is the impossibility of reverting a drive containing data to HFS+ if APFS gives problems. The drive would have to be erased and re-formatted.0
