What first card to get?

I already have a debit card.
The thing is when I want to purchase music online (www.audiojelly.com), there is a £0.50 charge per transaction for a debit card.

I keep visiting the site, and adding tracks to the shopping cart, and once it gets to £20 or over I then purchase the tracks (adding the £0.50 surcharge extra).

I've never seen the need for a credit card, but this has made me see that I could use a credit card in this situation.
I would then be able to get rid of the £0.50 charge and buy fewer tracks, but more often (same monthly spend). I get the tracks sooner, and cheaper.

Can anyone suggest a card to apply for?

I only spend what I have got, and always make sure my outgoings are less than what comes in, and it slowly builds up.

I have been looking at the cashback option, and notice the income question on the online application forms.
I'm bordering on the £12,000 yearly income, and i'm not sure about applying for one due to this.

I used to get loads and loads of mail with card offers, but now I want a card, I get no offers in the post.
Typical.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a card?

It's likely that your credit history is a bit bare.
Cash back cards tend to be given to people with very good credit records so its unlikely you would qualify at the moment.

As you will pay off the entire amount each month, the APR doesn't matter to you as you won't pay interest.
So I would suggest you firstly appoach your existing bank as they will have their own history of you.
If they wont give you one the try barclaycard initial or even Vanquis.. shocking interest rates but as I said they wont matter to you.

Use the card regularly , always pay off on time and this will improve your credit record.

i agree with clapton, however you must bare in mind that Vanuis, cap one and the like will be fine to start off with, but you will end up having to change, as their upgrade policy is non existant!

which bank are you with for your current account?
    INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
