Car insurance

When did it all change for car insurance, that you now have to provide your licence, copy of your logbook, dvla check code..... i mean what is all this?

What happened to car insurance, you take it out and thats it; youre on cover straight away? Now they want blood...

I'll bet you've gone bargain bucket. I've never been asked for these.

Me neither. Maybe you're the one person in 100 they randomly check. Or maybe they're having trouble checking your identity electronically - are you on the electoral register at your insured address?

I was asked for a copy of my licence last time I took out insurance, never before
