Registering for online banking with First Direct - problem?

Anyone else having this issue?
Was attempted yesterday & again today a number of times. The page where you fill out date of birth, sort code, account number & 3 characters from telephone password.
The next page then says they're having issues with their system basically.

I didn't get very far either, but that's because I've never rung them up and don't know my telephone password. Is this something they send you through the post automatically when you open the current account?0

With this account it stated in the paperwork that came through that you had to call them.
From the phone call a telephone password was created as well as other memorable information.
They asked if online banking was going to be registered for (which it was) and they said it may take a little while for the info to be put on the system.
I was thinking minutes, hours at the most, not days?0 -

I'm now not sure if I registered for internet banking when I set up the current account, but I get text alerts. Is this possible without the internet banking? I've looked here https://www2.firstdirect.com/1/2/banking/ways-to-bank/text-message-banking0

Sort of a solution
Can't register as need to go in to a HSBC bank with photo ID and then call First Direct from there (HSBC) explaining the problem.
Never remember this faff when i joined them. I guess they've upped their security.0 -
Sounds like more faff than it's worth signing up to these but according the MSE they're rated #1...0

I don't know what on earth is going on with First Direct bank. Having my own troubles now.
On my PC through FireFox i can enter my username but when i click through it just says sorry we cannot action your request.
If i try Chrome then the page just stays white ... forever
If i try the mobile app i can log in but can't do things such as reply to secure messages.
Only when i log in on my laptop can i actually do anything.0
