BOS PPI Claim have I said the wrong thing?

This is my first post so please bare with me.
I complained to Bank of Scotland an out a mid-sold ppi policy on a credit card from 2002. I felt I was mid-sold this policy as at the time of taking the credit card out I was in full time employment with financial benefits such as sick pay and redundancy as well as policies in place as part of my pension such as death inservice and critical illness cover. I also stated that I wasn’t aware that the policy was even in place but did admit that it was a long time ago but don’t remember any discussion of medical conditions or how I would pay credit card if not in employment.
I received a questionnaire which I duly filled in and sent back. I have since had to phone calls to gather further information based on my questionnaire. Said the things to the claim handler. He stated that on the credit agreement I had signed the ppi box. I said that that’s as maybe and would of just been told where to sign by advisor and feeling rushed I probably just signed not fullying having the time to think about it properly.
In the discussion I also stated that I felt that being only 18 and financially unaware I felt I was pushed for to take the card and that I also had parents who would support me financially if I needed it and that there may of been statements with the policy on it but didn’t know that it was optional and I could of cancelled it as this was never explained to me.
My question is this, have I just put myself in it to have my claim rejected?
Any help would be grateful as feel they will now reject my claim and wondering what my next steps would be.

If you told the truth, you're fine.
If you lied, that's where it could get a little sticky.0 -
No I told the truth but think they’ll use what I said as reasons to reject my claim0

Your complaint of being young and naive is not going to earn you any positive complaint points.
You'll have to wait and see what happens.
If you disagree with a rejection, you can go to the FOSNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
2002 .... fifteen years is a long time ago
You cant say thaat you didnt know the policy was in place because it would have been there on every single
monthly statement that you received from the CC company on a seperate line.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
So you're complaint is that 15 years ago, you signed an agreement without reading it? Why did you not cancel the ppi all those years ago if you didn't want it?. . . would of just been told where to sign by advisor and feeling rushed I probably just signed not fullying having the time to think about it properly.0 -
Yeah I think I’ll just need to wait and see.0

No I think I just didn’t remember I’d had the card let alone the policy, however I wouldn’t have been able to make claim any way as was a student at uni and only working 10 hours a week.0

I didn’t cancel as to be honest never having any form of credit I didn’t realise it was optional. I thought you had to pay it as part of having the credit card.0

Is there no onus on the banks to check the suitability of these policies at the point of sale?
I understand there is a difference between mis-selling and mis-buying, but phone and in branch sales ... does dialogue not have to take place regarding existing benefits/cover and policy exclusions/cost?0 -

None of that explains why it's taken you 15 years to complain about it?I didn’t cancel as to be honest never having any form of credit I didn’t realise it was optional. I thought you had to pay it as part of having the credit card.0
