Glue to mend casserole dish??

Hi all, I dropped the lid to my favourite crockery casserole dish and a chunk has come away quite cleanly, is there a glue I can use to fix it that is ok for high heats that won't affect my food?
Any help gratefully received, I'd hate to bin it!

If you can't get a replacement lid then perhaps try an oven door glue/silicone. I have no idea if it would work.
Something like this which was plastered all over google.

If you aren't able to repair the lid, perhaps kitchen foil could be used instead.0

Personally, I wouldn't go near any third party glue on cooking utensils, despite the company's claims about it being safe! There is more to lose than gain, if they find out in the future the glue is not as safe as it is meant to be, and people realise they have been digesting toxic substances for x number of years.
If you can find a replacement lid, then great, but if you can't then bite the bullet, and get something that works.
Before anyone says it, I know the manufacturers use glue/resins to put things together but the manufacturer has actually tested this exact combination of materials internally before it comes to market, and so I would trust that a lot more than claims by a third party glue company it works with this or that (I doubt they have tested every single cooking utensil available on the market to make sure it is safe).Save Save Save0 -
Frankly i wouldn,t risk it. I doubt whether any type of glue would be that heatproof. You can probably find a cheap casserole dish in a charity shop or car boot sale.0

I agree with the others above. It's not repairable as a usable dish for the oven.
It's a shame when this sort of thing happens, but if you use crockery and so on, it often ends up getting broken eventually. It's better IMHO than doing what so many of our relatives did, and keeping stuff in a cupboard for "best" and never using it. That's a bigger shame to me.0 -
It may be worth emailing the manufacturer, if still trading, to explain your plight. I once did this re a microwave fish steamer, after my DH melted the mid section on the hob by mistake! They sent me a new mid section two days later.0

You can't beat an enamel Roaster/Casserole dish. Light to transfer and easy to clean plus unbreakable what more could you ask.
