What Aids & Appliances Are Applicable For Personal Independence Payment

Hi, i did a PIP self assessment and one of the descriptors asks about toileting needs and if any aids or appliances are needed ? Can anyone advise if incontinence pads and catheter/s are applicable /accepted as toileting aids please? Thank you

I would think not because PIP is about scoring points with those descriptors. Where would you score points for having to use that? Here's a list of the descriptors and points.

Have a read of this link:

    Scroll down to page 72

I think the pressure cushion could be regarded as an aid if you need it to complete an activity safely, reliably etc

So, my thoughts are that you would have to relate the use of the pressure cushion to one of the daily living activities.

Thank you. I use the pressure cushion to help provide me with support when sitting and to help ease the pain i have in my joints below the waist and back(post surgery) when sitting and it does help me get up a bit better from sitting than my" normal"/standard seat /couch cushions so it probably wouldn,t be classed as an aid to be used to complete an activity safely or reliably i don,t think.
