budgeting question

Options
Can points be awarded if the claimant requires prompting to spend their money? For example if they weren't to be prompted they would not buy food or pay bills even though they have enough money and know they have enough money?

The claimant scored 0 because they got a maths qualification at school.

In other words it's not because they need help finding out how much they need to spend/how much change they would receive etc. It's about prompting to get them to spend money on things they need to.

More likely a case of being a miser. (I so hate having to part with money.)
See another thread if you want examples of people who do need benefits to help them budget (ie they don't recognise the value of coins/notes and simple money matters, in general )

  • I’d be interested to know what the medical cause for not wanting to spend money is?

I hoard money ;) It's because I have bipolar disorder, I get so worried about overspending that I won't buy basics, and I hide money.

(And yes, I probably come across as a miser too!)

I wouldn't expect points for being unable to budget though because I can (maybe not when I'm manic but that's rare). There's a difference between being unable to budget and being disinclined to do so.
