Faulty goods rights after 11 months

11 months ago I bought a tablet from Currys. From the start I noticed that it disconnected from my home wi-fi occasionally, usually after a period of being asleep. This was annoying but it didn't happen too often (and I did also find a software setting that improved things a bit), so I could cope with it. Then, a few months ago, I took it both to a public library and to a friend's house, and it was quite a bit worse at keeping connection - unusably bad, in the case of the library. I tried resetting it and using various apps that let you change the wi-fi frequency, but to no avail. I haven't noticed any patterns regarding distance from the router or that kind of thing.

So in other words I have a tablet that is largely usable (i.e. not completely faulty by any means) but not really good enough - they're not supposed to disconnect every 5 minutes, are they! I would therefore like to return it but of course it has been 11 months now. Are Currys likely to accept a return, and is there anything I can do to maximise my chances? I'm not the most assertive consumer (especially in person), so I'm very keen to know anything that could help me either assert my consumer rights or, if I no longer have many such rights after 11 months, at least put a bit of soft pressure on them...

I bought it on credit card but I'd prefer to sort it out with Currys if possible. I don't really have a preference regarding refund vs replacement.

Take it back to Currys and ask them to show you how to get the wifi to work and stop disconnecting all the time.

Point out it has always disconnected and see what they say.

As it is over 6 months, it is now up to YOU to prove it is inherently faulty. You may need to get an independent report stating this.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Though your consumer rights lie with Curry's you might find that the manufacturer is of more help as you are likely still within their warranty period.
