I am an Advantage Gold Account Holder at Nat West. I have recently received a letter with a leaflet entitled Your Account - Important Information.
In this they tell me that there are changes to fees for Personal and Private banking. From 1 November:
A Paid Referral Fee when you informally request an overdraft is introduced an £30 per day that a referral occurs.
An unpaid item fee of £38 PER TRANSACTION.
Unarranged overdrafts will attract a fee of £28.
Default notice is £30 per notice.
Guaranteed card payment (when using a cheque guarantee card or Maestro card without funds in the account - £35 per item.
Now, forgive me if I am wrong, but I would have thought that with all the hoo-hah over excessive charegs being reclaimed, the last thing the bank would be doing is INCREASING charges.
Am I missing something here or am I about to get shafted big time?
