Flight to Bali

This may well be the deciding factor, the cheaper flights as of today have enormous lay over times or 24hr+ journey times.
We opted for Cathay Pacific via HK and much preferred the long flight and shorter flight than 2 flights of similar length via Doha.0 -
I'm getting prices of £560 return with Singapore Airlines from London without even trying. Stopovers of 85 mins outbound and 50 mins inbound. Perhaps you can be more specific.0

Try Norwegian flights to Singapore (sub-£500) then Air Asia to Bali (about £60 return). Obviously if you book separately then if one flight is delayed causing you to miss one booked on another airline then you're in trouble. But if time allows you could build in some additional time - Singapore is worth a couple of days.0

My partner and I did the same thing for a wedding last year, around similar times with the same notice.
Direct flights never really dropped below £850, either 9 months before or just before we flew (I checked just to be nosy). Obviously you may find they do drop, but I never got an alert for it.
We managed to get flights to Kuala Lumpur via Dubai with Emirates for £460, and then paid £60 return to fly to Denpasar, however they were available for circa £35 we just didn't book in time and they went up (don't quote me but I think we might have had to pay for our luggage).
If you're not time restricted this is definitely a good way to go; the £330 we saved paid for our scuba diving course for three nights (including the accommodation!).
Also, I'm not crazy on KL but wanted to give it a second shot, however Singapore I definitely recommend!

Why would you do that if flights with Singapore Airlines are around that price anyway??0 -
This for a week mid September and is typical;
Can't find £850 if I try....0
