Can I replace an integrated washing machine with a freestanding machine?

Hi,

I would like to replace my current integrated washing machine Hotpoint BHWM149/2 with a freestanding Siemens WM14Q478GB. Is that possible?

Old Hotpoint machine dimensions are: H82 x W59.5 x D55cm
and the new Siemens machine dimensions are: H84.8 x W59.8 x D55cm

Could you please advise me?

Yes, it's easy to do. The dimension are the same so as long as your worktops are standard height and the gap is 600mm then just rip everything out and slide the new one in. All the waste and fittings will already be in the right places so it easy enough to do.

Looks like a slightly updated version of my, two year old, machine. Excellent machine.


Can't comment on what you want to do but I have done the same thing with a fridge and it fitted perfectly.

Can you do a 60 degrees wash on Easy Care on your machine or is 40 the maximum?

Thank you all for your advice - my last SIEMENS washing machine was like a new after 7 years of daily use and I made a mistake and didn't take it with me when I moved house. I'll go for a SIEMENS again and see how it goes.
