After a total of 8 weeks with my laptop being out for repair and getting the most awful CS in the history of the universe, The Tech Guys - company that (mis)manage repairs etc have agreed with Coverplan to write off my laptop and send me vouchers for a replacement. These vouchers can be spent at any of the Dixon Stores Group of companies, PC World, Dixons or Currys.
I am now in discussion with them regards its replacement. They think I can replace it for £499 but I'm not quite so sure.
So, I really would appreciate those who are in the know. The specification is
