Travel insurance sickness!!

I know its auite topical right now with scams etc, my friend and all her family suffered quite badly with sickness all being hospitalised in turkey. Luckily she had photos of them all being linked up to IVs etc.
The hotel was a 5* and there were 70 others who suffered sickness too . The insurance company has tried to fob them off. Saying this is a 5* resort with high standards etc.
Is there an ombudsmen she can contact to escalate this case. Luckily she has a lot of evidence in photos prescriptions etc.

Thank you in advance

Once the travel insurance provider's complaints process has been exhausted and a final outcome issued, the case can be escalated to the FOS for upto six months;-

What is her actual claim, and is it covered by the policy?

I'm not sure I will leave that to her to find out.

The complaints process will be laid out in her policy. Once she has exhausted that, the insurer will give her a leaflet explaining how to take it to the ombudsman.

if you have a hospital discharge letter, that should be enough evidence. Cruise ships also suffer from this no matter how expensive they are.

If it is genuine then they should have no problems especially with written proof.

    For those not genuine beware:

Wallasey couple jailed last week for false sickness claim. He got 15 months, she got 9 months.

The whole family plus 70 odd others from the same hotel suffered. Very unpleasant experience .
