    I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone stumbles across it looking for advice in a similar situation. I managed in the end to get hold of the landlord directly and he was perfectly fine. He returned the signed contracts without further delay and we have now moved on with respect to the sale.My next battleis with clauses in the sale contract...
