Reinforce Fence

Hi all,
Was hoping to get some advice! Some weirdo keeps cutting a section of my fence down (gaining access to my garden for whatever bizarre reason). My husband/dad have been fixing it without too many issues however I have decided I have had enough!
Is there anything I could attach to the planks to reinforce them and prevent them from being cut? I have been looking online and have came across metal 'fixing strips' (essentially flat metal strips with holes for screws) and galvanised steel 'fixing tape' (it's like a roll of metal with holes punched for screws).
Do you think this would work? (Not sure if they would hold up to a saw) or is there any other options anyone can think of?

Have you thought about setting up some surveillance cameras and try and see who is doing it and reporting them to the police?0

I have thought about resorting to a discrete camera but have yet to get round to getting a quote (thinking that may be around £300ish though as I would want one professionally installed which could be viewed via the TV).
Whilst it would be worth the money I was hoping to find a solution which can be implemented tomorrow with say a trip to B&Q. This should give me a bit of time to get round to hopefully sorting a camera as the bizarre cutting of the fence appears to happen every 6-8 weeks :A0 -
Presumably there is no access requirement which your fence has blocked? Just asking as this is a really weird situation. I would suggest using a sheet of reinforcing mesh like A142. Will probably need cutting down to size but can be attached to fence and be pretty impossible to cut through without some serious tools. Other advantage is it would be useful for climbers like clematis etc to grow up!
Edit: Buy from a builders merchant. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

No it's a detached house with a private garden so no through access to anywhere. It is very weird and it's starting to creep me out if I am honest which is why I want an end to it. Thanks for the suggestion I am definitely going to check this out.0 -
So someone is using a saw or some other tool to cut a section of your fence out??? How often is this happening? Have you reported this to the police?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

If the only access is to your private, enclosed, garden then this is well creepy.
I would get the police involved - it may be that you have a stalker.0 -

Get a discreet cctv set up covering the fence and find out who is doing this - then get the police involved.
If you have someone weird breaking into your garden and you manage to block that entry, who knows what he/she will do next?0
