Advice Needed Please

in Credit cards
Hi Everyone, this is my first post and I would be grateful for any advice given. My current debt is as follows:
RBS Loan - £10,000
Mint CC - £3700
MBNA CC - £2300
Overdraft - £2000
My problem started when I wasn't working for a period of close to 6 months last year, then when I did get a job I wasn't on a great wage so I was still spending more than I earned and credit cards were used to keep me going.
I'm now in a good job and I've wised up to the fact that I need to be savy with money and learn to say no. However, although the debt isn't rising now, I'm still struggling with the repayments. I've discovered that my credit rating is not that great at the moment to, only because I never had enough in my account on one occassion to pay a direct debit.
Basically, I'm aware I would probably need a slightly better credit rating to apply for either a lower interest loan or 0% interest credit card but any advice in the meantime would be great. In addition, I was thinking about applying for a Capital One credit card for those with a poor rating, in order to help increase it, and was wondering if anyone else has went down this route?

I think you would get more joy if you asked this question on the Debt free wannabee board.
My first port of call would be the bank where your salary is paid in now - they will know you as well as anyone - if anyone will lend you money to repay your debt they will.
However consolidation will do you no good at all unless the route cause of the debt has been found and eliminated. Your posting suggests that you have got to that point.0
