Washing Machine PPI!

Options
Hi everyone, this may be a question that i should be able to find the answer to myself but i can't!
In my quest for PPI claims, i remebered that i bought a washing machine from Currys in approximately 2000. I went in with the cash, which my mum had given to me and was pursuaded to buy it on the never-never by a staff member. I was pretty broke at the time and i spent years paying off the interest on a £200 machine that i could have bought outright!!
My question is, how do i find out which lender would i have used, through Currys? Because i am quite sure that i will have been paying PPI, in my cluelessness.

It doesn't matter which lender. They didn't sell it to you.

    You would complain to Currys.

Why did you take out credit if your mum had given you the money?

Why are you quite sure you paid PPI, and was it not suitable for your needs?

As you have been told, it doesn't matter, you address your complaint to Currys. They are a licensed credit broker. However, "approximately 2000" is approximately 17 years ago. Currys may no longer have any records, and your being "quite sure" about being sold PPI, don't mean nothing. You need records.

Which is apart from the fact that PPI sales by brokers were not regulated prior to 2005, so the complaint may well be dismissed on that basis.

The year 2000 is five years before regulation. I also doubt Currys will have kept any details of your finance from 17 years ago.
