Nationwide Website - Rubbish!

Yesterday when out shopping I needed to check if Nationwide had my correct mobile number. Did you know that you can't even do this simple thing on their website without having your card reader? You can't see the number they have (nor your address). I wonder which prankster designed this 'un-process' ?

Less secure? You're having a laugh aren't you?
I'd already logged onto the site - password, memorable word and the rest of the malarkey - and I only wanted to DISPLAY the number they hold, but no. The card reader is needed to perform even that basic task. Absolutely stupid.0 -
If you think not being able to see your mobile number makes Nationwide's service "rubbish", you'd sh*t a brick if you used First Direct's or the Co-op's.urs sinserly,

I have never considered this as an issue as I perform most of my transactions at home logging in with the card reader.
I can understand why added security is required to change a phone number or address but don't understand why there isn't menu option just to view them. When logged in without using the card reader my address can be found by viewing PDF statements and my mobile phone number can be seen by managing text alerts.0 -

If you have the app and go into Details and Settings you can see the number they hold for you in the Text Alerts section. (edit: missed alanq's reply).
I'd be interested to know why there would be a sudden need while out shopping to check the phone number or address?!! that Nationwide hold.0 -

They rang up my home number while I was out. I got the message and wondered why they hadn't called my mobile. They wouldn't discuss the matter with the person who answered the home phone, so I wanted to check what mobile number they had for me.0 -
The Nationwide website - that's the one that, every time I go on it tells me they don't have my mobile number & to please add it to my personal information. Then it tells me I can't change a phone number without going in to a branch.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

It also won't ever let me pay credit card bills online. Each time I select a card to pay, i'm immediately logged out and returned to start screen. Neither of my credit cards are Nationwide ones, but they're fairly common and are listed on the dropdown menu. Odd. I have to transfer the money to my Santander current account, then pay the credit cards from that one which is a pain.0
