Cost of replacing toilet and sink?

I'm looking to replace my toilet and sink. I thought the cost of fitting and plumbing would cost maybe £200-£300 tops but B&Q are suggesting it would cost in the region of £3000? I simply can't justify that sort of money. Surely that's not right?
Does anyone have any insight on the cost of replacing a toilet and sink?

Who at B&Q said that? I think you'll be a half day labour for a fitter.0

I just replaced my whole bathroom (including bath, shower, pan and basin. Also walls and flooring) for that amount!!!!! It includes the labour of plumber and builder.
I think your own estimate is more realistic, unless there is a difficulty that we are not aware of ....:rotfl:0 -
I have just has a new bathroom fitted. Including new glass in the window and all the accessories it has come to less than £27000

Well it was my mum who spoke to the guy so there could be some miscommunication. However apparently he suggested that the cost of replacing the tiles round the toilet etc. Would all add up. I think either he thinks I'm completely redoing my bathroom or they're trying to rip me off! Haha.0

New toilet and basin (sinks are for kitchens) should be an easy DIY job, so cost of materials and your time should be less than £250.Never Knowingly Understood.

Sorry but people have got to stop saying this.
Nothing is 'easy' if you don't know how to do it. So please stop being condescending and belittling people with such comments.
I run a property maintenance company and do most things, but that's because I know how. A lot of people say I should service my own van. But I don't because I don't have a clue about mechanics and nor do I wish to learn.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
OP the basin can cost any thing from £60 upwards, the same for a toilet.
Allow a days labour for a plumber, plus some fixings and connections such as a pan connector, new waste and trap, flexi connectors for the tap. There may be some adjustments on the pipe work if the new cistern fills on a different side from the old one. Allow £40 for these items. So labour and materials will be around £250 plus the cost of your sanitary ware.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Totally agree with Phill, just replaced a Toilet, Basin and Corner Bath plus laid new flooring for one of my customers and charged £390 for labour plus about £60 for materials. They purchased the Sanitary Ware and flooring.Thoughts:
