Hi
I believe there has been a vrn misread. I am waiting for an appointment with the Hotel Manager to ascertain what their policy is with regard to parking. Surely they must require more evidence than a vrn plate?0 -
Thank you. I will write to them as I have evidence I was hosting a BBQ for 40 residents on the secure site where I work as Manager. Our CCTV doesn`t go back that far unfortunately.0

But we do that online via MCOL, never by post; no-one is told here to use the paperwork at all. I hope you didn't write a single word in the 'defence' box?Unfairly_treated wrote: »Thanks. I have sent off the AOS recorded delivery.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't worry about the CCTV, there will no doubt be emails to show that the BBQ took place and perhaps photos (date and time stamped) to show you there? Otherwise (or plus) a statement from a colleague. As a general warning, anyone who makes a statement should be prepared to attend court for cross examination, otherwise the court can disregard or give little weight to their evidence. In this case I don't see it would matter if a colleague made a statement about the BBQ and then didn't turn up because you are bound to have umpteen emails/diary entries etc from work which will show that the BBQ happened.Unfairly_treated wrote: »Thank you. Now there won't be evidence that you drove your car there and back - is there anyone who could testify to that (if not I wouldn't worry, you will say in your own evidence that it's your only car and that is how you got there and back - otherwise you'd have made a taxi claim on expenses and perhaps your accounts dept can confirm that no such expenses claim was made). And if nobody else is insured to drive your car you could produce the policy schedule to show that as well. Or if it's a company car, the company can confirm that it's only insured for employees and not family members.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, you just need to produce a couple of things to show you couldn't have been there, which is what I wanted you to think about now, and then you sit back and wait for them to prove you were. If they can't produce a photo of your car they can't prove their case in the face of your own evidence that you were elsewhere.
I think you have a good chance of seeing this off if you get some of this evidence together now and send it to the PPC, point out their failure to provide any photographic evidence at all, the notorious unreliability of ANPR camera systems, and invite them to withdraw or you will seek R27.14(2)(g) costs.Although a practising Solicitor, my posts here are NOT legal advice, but are personal opinion based on limited facts provided anonymously by forum users.
