Damaged in transit!

Hermes are a terrible company! I would strongly recommend anyone against using them. From my personal experience, I was sending a camera lens through the post which was damaged in transit. However when claiming back on insurance through Hermes I was told that the parcel was not sufficiently packaged.. bearing in mind this was packaged by the manufacturer and having fragile all over it. Since got a third party involved but to cut the story short, just don't send through Hermes if you can avoid it.

I'm sorry you've lost some money here, but a manufacturer's packaging is often inadequate. Strapped together with lots of other items on a pallet it is fine but a single box on its own it is far more vulnerable. Fragile stickers are not packaging!

I think you are likely to have received the same response from most carriers.
