Awaiting refund from "Save on Laptops"

Hello all,

Just over a year ago I bought a laptop from Save on Laptops and earlier this year it broke. It was sent back to the manufacturer and they have confirmed that it can not be repaired and they have provided me with a credit note.

This was provided to Save on Laptops at the end of August and I am still waiting on them to provide me with the refund (they have replied that they are still awaiting recovered funds from their supplier). I have been chasing for some time but I seem to be getting no further

I bought the laptop with my credit card, so I should hopefully still have my Section 75 rights.

Am I being unreasonable in expecting a credit note to have been processed in this time frame? Would Section 75 apply in this case?

Thank you in advance for any advice
Kal

    Eh tricky one.

It sounds like the manufacturer is providing a refund under warranty (or possibly even goodwill given you say just over a year). If that is the case, you may have to refer to the terms of the warranty.

As for how long its taking, it all depends. Its possible they have an account and wont receive it until their september statement and then wont process that statement themselves until october. Perhaps try contacting them and asking? I've ordered from them a few times before - one time had an issue and found them to be helpful and very willing to provide details.

  • The refund from the manufacturer is because the laptop broke down 11 months into a two year warranty.

The laptop originally broke down nearly 4 months ago (it took several months for the problem to be confirmed as unfixable)

I have been trying to contact them for a week with no update which concerns me a little
