UHD monitors can be found in Window laptops and obviously, stand alone monitors.0

Dell have an 8k monitor that is universally agreed to be blinking marvellous, and frankly things are progressing fast - for now I'd get myself a good 1080 monitor or maybe 4k, with an eye to upgrading my whole system in one hit when the time comes (not many video cards will drive 8k effectively - it's 16x the number of dots that an HD/1080 monitor has)0

Absolutely. The Dell u2717 uses exactly the same display panel as the 27" iMac does. However unlike the Apple Dell calibrates every single one at the factory so colour accuracy is actually better than the Macs.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Retina is Apple's description of a screen where you can't see individual pixels at normal viewing distances. Those normal viewing distances are different for a phone, tablet, and computer.
As above, if you basically look for a 27 inch, 4K monitor, you'll have the same kind of resolution as the iMac. But you'll be looking at a 16:9 screen, like a TV. iMac's screen is closer to 5K, and the more computer-related 16:10 aspect ratio. It'll cost...0
