Hi

I have recently received a parking fine from Smart Parking for parking up in a spot for 13 minutes before leaving. Now the reason I had to park up was down to the fact that I am a type 1 diabetic and I started to feel my blood sugar get low, rather than risk it getting too low I pulled over drank some lucozade and once I was feeling better I set off on my way again.

Now I am not the owner of the vehicle (it's a company car) so really wish I had read the Newbies section prior to appealing to deal with the issue that way. Unfortunately I hadn't and I went onto the website thinking, surely they'll understand, and sent an appeal through apologising and explaining why I had parked up. That appeal has been rejected which I was a little shocked at as it was a genuine medical reason behind stopping so I am wondering what to do now, can I be charged for stopping on medical grounds? Will I be taken to court if I ignore them? What will be my best move now? I have checked and they are on the BPA website but not IPC website, on the BPA website it says no under the debt recovery section.

Apologies if I've missed the correct source of information on the FAQ

Use your popla code for a pola appeal (all covered in the FAQ)

If that fails then they have up to 6 years to commence legal proceedings that could result in a court case
