Thank you Jo6673, I'll try that one today, I've set a ramp with food along it back into his cage, so far no luck, but like you say stronger smelling food may do the trick.

I'll let you know if he reappears.

    Many thanks

Good luck, Lucina & family. This reminded me of when we got a kitten (4 years ago), who escaped and found the only place in the entire house I hadn't kitten-proofed: a previously unseen hole in the floorboards behind the immersion tank. I was inwardly frantic while trying to appear calm and confident for my son's sake.

Thankfully, the kitten came out of his own accord when he got hungry but it did take 36 hours... and has become the world's best (sorry, peeps, if you disagree) cat ever.

    Fingers crossed for your hamster.

  • I thought I would let you all know that Mr Nibbles has come back :j:T:D

He found his way out from under the floor and through my sons wardrobes and was living quite happily there by the looks of it, he'd stashed food made a comfy bed - hamster heaven I guess!

It was one of my dogs who found him, she kept going to the wardrobe and scratching at the door, I opened it and there he was - we're all really happy that he's back, safe and sound :D :j

Thank you all for your advice, it was most helpful :A

  • Great news:T

This is similar to when one of mine returned. He had made a lovely nest in a colander in the back of the pan cupboard, and in his nest we found a couple of silver charms that I'd lost years ago!!

    Welcome home, Mr Nibbles!!
