Tablet incorrect time

My android tablet is displaying the incorrect time (hours out). Tis a hudl2.
Set to sync to network time. What does it actually sync to, is it router or ISP?
Whatever it is it is wrong or not working! Setting manually to correct time and then setting back to auto reverts to incorrect time again so syncing seems to be working.

is your location set wrong somewhere?0

It uses whats called an NTP server (network time protocol)
Most likely a free p[ublic one or one of the manufacturers own.
As above, Im guessing the minutes are correct - which indicates you have it set to the wrong time zone0 -
Perhaps my shorthand language misleads!
Should have said, my time when on auto is several hours slow, actually about 6hours and twenty minutes.....
For further info, my location setting is on but location history and sharing with apps is off. Does that make any difference?
Must admit have no idea how to set location on android other than those mentioned above!0 -
settings => date and time (tick in automatic date and time)
Below that take the tick OUT of "Automatic time zone", underneath, you can click "select time zone".
Make sure it's set to GMT+1.
Then put the tick back into "Automatic time zone"
(Location services has nothing to do with this)0 -
Thanks both.
Not sure where you find auto time zone - I don't seem to have it! But, if all else fails, reboot - and now all is fine.:j
Not sure why booting this morning did not work but it is a computer so not really logical!:D0
