Sky TV won't honor their quote

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on where I stand or what I should do.

I am a sky tv customer and yesterday I upgraded my package to a Qbox with a sky vendor in my local shopping mall. I agreed on the increase to my monthly payments and paid a one off payment of £115
.
When I got home I called sky to verify some details with my account and was told that my new upgrade has been priced incorrectly and told me there was more to pay in monthly payments. He went on to say that it was still a discounted price but would only last 12mths of the 18mth contract, after 12mths I have to pay full price.

At the time of doing the upgrade the vendor said I will pay his discounted price for 18mth as it was a special offer.

Because of this price confusion I have cancelled the offer and asked for a refund.

To add to the confusion when I log into my sky account and do an online upgrade I am quoted the same deal as agreed with the vendor.

So what do I do, take out the online upgrade and hope at some point Sky don't put up my monthly repayments and I pay what's been quoted or will Sky have the last word and increase just because they can.

I wouldn't mind but the deal isn't that great, I was offered better when I had a sky operator calling me at home last Saturday, I ask for some time to think about it but when I got back they could find any record of it and the prices have now gone up, typical.

All I want is a SkyQ box, does it have to be this hard.

Local shopping mall ?? Does that mean it was a SKY shop or a couple of guys with a box ??
  • In my experience with Sky this is quite common. It has happened to us twice now, a few years apart.
  • It wasn't a shop, more like a stall but with Tv's showing 4k and Qboxes in glass cabinets. Nice set up.

I've just spoken to Tranding Standards who told me I would've been protected under the consumer protection reg 2008. Also there was some mis selling regarding the multi box which if I had proof on what he said and why I had to buy it, it would be a criminal breach.

I feel you don't quite understand the phrase 'quite common' ;)

I fear you don't understand the phrase "in my experience";)

There have been several reports about the men working from stalls , making false promises for a quick signature (and commission for themselves.)
  • Name and shame them.
    what shopping centre was it.

Sky have the same set up at the INTU centre where I live.
