We have recently bought a small holding, and house needs a complete refurbishment next year. We are currently in the process of drawing up ideas and sorting out budgets etc. What I need to know at present is whether anybody knows if it’s regulation to install a sprinkler system into a refurbished property. I understand now in Wales (were in Pembrokeshire) it’s a requirement in all new builds but can’t find any information regarding a refurbished property so was wondering if anybody here would know?

No, they're not needed in a refurb. I take it your not completely demolishing the existing structure?
