hotpoint Lav21 fridge bulb

Hi

My bulb blew on my hotpoint lav21 fridge.

I bought 2 replacement bulbs eveready E14 15w but both dont work.

I noticed on the fridge it says max 10 w.

Will the 15w not work at all? I'm trying to establish if its because I bought 15w instead of 10w or whether something else has gone faulty?

Should the 15w bulb still work? how can I test/check whats broken here? if its the bulb holder, how can I replace?

Thanks

If you use a higher wattage bulb than recommended you may melt the fitting or surround.
    Big no no............
A 15w bulb should work & if you bought a 2 pack it would be unlikely that both of them were duffers.
Test them in another fitting ??
If it is the fridge bulb holder I am your you could replace it yourself.
Youtube would be a good place to start.
Make sure you turn off & unplug the fridge before doing anything.
