i would just like to say after working in call centres for 10 years it amazes me how people think by giving the poor rep on the phone grief that they will help them. it used to make me more determined not to help them. and then to undermine them by asking to speak to the manager.0

Okay, fair enough. Too late this time. Still saved money anyhoos. Know better next time.
For the 2 months, you are paying your full old premium plus 2/12 of your new premium.
If you reckon that's "saving money anyhoos", you need to think again.0 -
In fairness to the OP, the insurance company DID breach the complaints procedure of the FOS. She should have had written response within 5 working days and then a full response within 8 weeks.0

I don't know the OP's circumstances relevant to changing their car, it's non of my business anyway, but personally I would have waited the two months checked other quotes then taken delivery of the new car with the new insurance starting on that day and after cancelling the Budget insurance.
That's what I've recently done and it worked fine. Being tight I waited the 2/3 months rather than give Budget £25 to change the policy for a few weeks.0
