Separate electric supply from flat/shop
Comments
-
You need to:
(a) get your electrician to separate the shop's and flat's wiring
(b) get your DNO (distribution network operator) to install a new supply
(c) get a new supplier to install a meter and set up billing
The DNO will not now run the supply to the flat through the shop, so you will probably need a new supply brought in from the street outside.
Alternatively if you intend to keep being the landlord of both properties you could get your electrician to install sub-meters to apportion the supplier's bill between the two premises. The meters must be MID approved and you must not resell the electricity at a profit.
Basic meters £40, smart meters about £200.
