Sorrento Hotel recommendation needed

I am looking for a 4*+ hotel in Sorrento for May of next year. My problem is that I do not know anyone who has been who could recommend an area or district etc. Basically looking for a nice 4*+ hotel, within walking distance of nice bars and restaurants and the city center. Dont know if its possible to have a lovely view over the sea......I think you are getting the picture.

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice that anyone can give.

We stayed at Gardenia last april - and thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe that you can request a sea view if you get a room at the back. It was a 10-15 minute walk to centre of town. The hotel staff were very friendly and arranged a driver to take us along the amalfi drive - Positano, etc.

Have a look at the Admiral Hotel, whilst it is only a 3 * it has 10* views. It is situated right on the sea in the Marina Grande which is a a lovely traditional fishing harbour. The area has a more authentic italian feel and is less commercial and certainly quieter than the main town of Sorrento. The best part is it is only a 10 -15 minute walk into the centre of town.

You may have to pay a little extra for a full sea view but you won't get any closer to the water than this.
